Polyelectrolyte design principles for electrophoretic drug delivery
H Saarela Unemo, et al. Advanced Science 13, e22981 (2026)
Tiny electronic devices can use electricity to deliver molecules through soft gels. This study reveals how adjusting the gels’ water content and electrical charge makes delivery more efficient and predictable. These findings help guide the development of EnterBio’s tools for delivering chemical signals to nerves in the gut, to explore how they influence the brain.

Miniaturized iontronic micropipettes for precise and dynamic ionic modulation of neuronal and astrocytic activity
T Arbring Sjöström, et al. Small 21, 2410906 (2025)
A microscopic pipette uses electricity to deliver tiny amounts of potassium to individual brain cells. Tests in brain tissue showed that it can quickly and reversibly change the activity of nerve cells and their supporting cells. This precise chemical control provides a foundation for EnterBio’s tools to study and influence the nervous system through the gut.

Mechanistic insights into the interaction between epilepsy and sleep
L Sheybani, et al. Nature Reviews Neurology 21, 177–192 (2025)
Sleep and epilepsy are closely connected, with changes in the brain’s rhythms linked to seizures and disrupted sleep. This review explores what might explain these links, and how understanding them could improve epilepsy care. It provides a scientific foundation for EnterBio’s wider effort to understand and influence brain activity through the gut.
